A piece of string is marked in segments of one-fourth the length of the string and also in segments of one third the length of the string. If the string is then cut at each mark, which of the following expresses all the different lengths of the bits of string, in fractions of the original length?

A) 1/12 and 1/4 only

B) 1/4 and 1/3 only

C) 1/6, 1/4 and 1/3

D) 1/12, 1/6, and 1/4

E) 1/12, 1/6, and 1/3

Draw a diagram as below.

0---1/4--1/3--2/4--2/3--3/4--1

and length of different segments will be one of 1/4, 1/6, 1/12.
