given,

length = width = Y


question is asking sqaure tiles required to cover entire floor which is Y^2.

So B is sufficient

Notice that we are told that each of the four walls is x meters in height and y meters in length. so the base is a square with the side of y:

I can't even say how much I hate these trick questions ... what's next? "What is heavier - 1 kilo of stone or 1000 gram of feathers"?
