Picking numbers:

Stmnt 1:

1 + 3 = 4 --> divisible by 4
2 + 6 = 8 --> divisible by 4

no other numbers fit in to the criteria. Evidently, stmnt 1 is sufficient.

Stmnt 2:

1 + 3 = 4 --> divisible by 4
3 + 5 = 8 --> divisible by 4
1 + 5 = 6 --> NOT divisible by 4

Stmnt 2 is not sufficient.
