The capital of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Sarajevos population on the eve of the First World War was 51,919 .

A. Bosnia-Herzegovina, Sarajevos population

B. Bosnia-Herzegovina is Sarajevo, whose population

C. Bosnia-Herzegovina is Sarajevo, with a population

D. Bosnia-Herzegovina, Sarajevo having a population that

E. Bosnia-Herzegovina, the population of Sarajevo

B. pretty clear. picked C at first but there's a tense problem

would agree with the prof.

also narrowed down to B and C. In C, I guess its a tense problem. So chose B.

In A and E, the capital refers to Sarajevo's population and in D.."with having" is incorrect.

"Whose" can refer to a city`s population, infrastructure, public facilities, etc.

A could be correct if there were an apostrophe included: Sarajevo`s

Select (B) and click confirm

Picked "B".

"A" could not be right even if you add the apostrophe to Sarajevo - i.e to indicate "population of sarajevo" because the modifier "The capital of Bosnia-Herzegovina" cannot be modifying population. Hope that helps.

late but picked B , Whose goes with the past tense which is in the latter part of the sentence

Good call Elements: even with the apostrophe, the sentence would contain a modifier problem.. :beat
