a simple question about recommendation letter

How did you ask professors to write recommendation letters for the PhD programs? If you apply for multiple programs in different schools, do you ask them to prepare a template and fill in the names for each school?

Hey I hope this answer is not very late. Generally it is like this. B/c 1) professor don't have time to write specialized LORs for different schools 2) and also you are the same person when applying to different schools. Of course there can be some exceptions. For example, Univ of Miami asks recommenders to specifically talk about your quant skills when you apply for their Marketing program.
