Hi,

Area of garden & path = 225
Side = \sqrt{225} = 15 ft

As per the below diagram,

Side of garden = 11 ft

When sides of garden are increased by 5 ft,
new dimension = 11+5 = 16 ft
Area = 16^2 = 256

Answer (D)

Thanks.

I missed to take 2 feet on both sides. so took the side of the garden as 15-2 =13.

so 13 +5 after increasing and the area of garden as 18^2 = 324.

Have to be careful :roll: . Thanks for the solution.
