A square picture frame has an outer perimeter of 36 inches and is 1 inch wide on all sides. What is the inner perimeter of the frame, in inches?
(A) 27
(B) 27.5
(C) 28
(D) 31.5
(E) 32

Yes 28...

The outer perimeter is 36 which means we have 9 inch for each outer side...

We also know that frame occupies 1 inch on each side...

What i did was to draw a square and add a perpendicular line (which eqauls 1 inch) towards the center on each side of the square... After that the answer becomes obvious... We have to deduct 2 inch from the length of the outer side...

7+7+7+7=28
