1. (99-x)/100 = 98/100
2. 1 = x

silly mistake:

1. 99-x/100-x = 98/100
2. 9900-100x = 9800-98x
3. 100 = 2x
4. 50 = x

(99-x)/(100-x)=.98

98-.98x=99-x

.02x=1

2x=100

x=50


If you double check, (99-50)/(100-50)=49/50

(49/50)*(2/2)=98/100=98%
