Straight D.

"would" is generally used for situations when we talk of hypothetical or probable situations from the view point of past. This is a concrete predicition and we should use "will".

D is it..

"Predicts" is present tense hence should be followed by "will"

If it was "Predicted" then "would" should have been used.

originally selected (A) as the thumb rule I had was "would" will always follow "predict" but as I understand from ps_dahiya's explanation, this would hold good only if the there is an element of probability in the statement.

Diff between will and would

Would is uncertain, will is certain. When you predict you are certain of the prediction, hence use will.
