I learn from your book a word " disconnect." Is it different from a word "disparity" in this example: " I would like to use this space to explain the disconnect (disparity?) between my job title and .........."

I took this word from your book and it's interesting; however, I want to clarify its meaning in my case.

GMATcram,

"disconnect" = "disparity."
