Hi,
Starting my GMAT preparations I was reading a lot and tried to match the best methods for me. The only problem was that in my mind I wanted to see results and fast.
When I started tackling RC I was always in a hurry. I wanted to read fast and answer fast. Doing so, i had 60% success.
I started slowing down, mapping the passages and understanding the author's intentions. I'm now better in RC and started working on my speed, focusing on connection words to better understand the passage.

my suggestion is START SLOW, don't rush it and patient.
after you'll practice 20 RC's it will be much easier.

Im using rhyme's method without the skimming.
Reading first paragraph and writing notes.
reading first line of each paragraph and writing notes.
in the last paragraph i also read the last sentence to see if there is a conclusion which adds to my mapping.

I hope this helps and good luck to you all!
