B) 'as many females as male students' is awkward
C) 'as many as that ' wordy

C â€“ Changes the meaning. It says as many as not equal to
D â€“ awkward.
E- short concise and to the point.
Will go with E

B doesnt seeem to compare male students to female students.It seems that the male students enrolled r being compared to females enrolled...I understand that the meaning of both is same..but at the first look it seems that this option has ||ism error.
Also plz explain what is wrong with E...m stuck b/w B n E

C)the number of female students is as many as that of male students currently enrolled in medical schools - the number is as many awkward
D)as great as the number of female is the number of male students currently enrolled in medical school - number as great awkward
E)female and male students are currently enrolled in equal numbers in medical school. - Statistics deals with numbers. According to statistics, the number ... makes more sense.

E seems okie.

A) the number of female medical students and the number of male medical students B) females is not accepted.
C) "the number of female students" ........ as many as??? i am not sure...
D) "as great as" not correct.
E) female and male students are currently enrolled in equal numbers in medical school. okie.....

'A' - equivalent by itself should be used as an adjective. Therefore 'A' is incorrect.

'E' is a clear winner here.

Acc. to the enrollment statistics published by U.S medical schools is a dependent clause therefore we need a independent clause next to , which is satisfied in 'E'

I think it is ^ B ^

In A, C and D, we compare the female students with the male students who are enrolled this year. However, both female and male students are enrolled this year !!

Also in C "the number .. as many as" is wrong. It should be " as much as ".

We are left with B and E. In E "enrolled in equal numbers" sounds awkward as if the students came in equally numbered groups and enrolled.

(A) '...female students is...' is incorrect. Should be in plural form - 'are'.
(B) 'females' and 'male students' not appropriate - Parallelism.
(C) 'as many as that of' - incorrect sentence construction.
(D) '...as great as...' - Self explanatory (No Comments )
(E) Sound the best in the lot.

A - use of equivalent wrong, should be equal as we are dealing with numbers
B - comparing females to male students, not ||
C - as many as - prefer equal as we are comparing numbers
D - as great as - awkward
E - uses equal - OK
