Of the lot A seems the best, though A in itself doesnt sound alright!

B is wrong as there its not parallel in its tense usage - moreover, those who are born before 1905 become 75 by 1980, so thats it the past - but the tense is a simple present.

C is wrong coz - but six percent of those born since 1955 do by the age - do by the age is not clear at all. Also, - of the americans born....1% of them - redundant usage of OF ....

SO A it is IMO.

hard to believe but A is best here. Using POE we can do away with the rest of the answer choices - B and C not parallel, D, E wrong tense.

Yeah, A is good. "had suffered" in A makes is best for those born before 1905.
