accounting certificate program [#permalink]
06 May 2006, 19:14
Hello,
I know most of you are in MS accounting or MBA programs...I initially planned on taking this route, but have learned of University of Washington's accounting extension certificate program, an intensive summer-program in which I would get all the accounting core undergraduate classes (18 credits). However, I would still need to take other business classes (36 credit hours) and more accounting classes (18 credit hours) to be eligble to take the CPA exam.
In general, does anyone have experience with these certificate programs? How respectable are they? Can I get an internship afterwards?
I am in a tight financial situation now, but could probably manage through the summer...but if its not worth it, I am thinking I might wait a couple more years until my financial situation will be "prettier". In this circumstance, I would be able to go to a full-time accounting program.
Let me know what you think. Time is of the essence.

My main question- What position you would be qualified for after the program that you could not get now?
