whenever u c , between, in GMAT, chose the option with, connecting word, and.
E is the best choice.

I say E
A and B are out because "between...and" is idiomatic.
D is out because it's too wordy.
C is tough to rule out...I just don't like it.

For me, B sounds more apt. 'coz the usage of two 'and's consequently does not sound correct to for me.
So, I'm left with A and B.
In A, the usage of 'between...to produce' is yet again a bit awkward.

using 'and' confuses what reacts 'with' what.

E also. I believe "and" is required since two different ideas are presented.
