admission confirmation question [#permalink] New post 12 Jan 2005, 02:13
hey sorry to ask the same question in two forums but i dont have much time.
ok , i received an admission letter from GWU. Althoug GWU is a great school and i might end up going there. I still have not received any word from the other places that i applied to. Now GWU has given me about a week to reply and confitm my admission and pay a non refundable fee ( it took a while for there letter to come in the mail as i am in India) . So if i were to confirm my admission with them and pay my fee, and then later if i were to get an admission letter from another school, can i still change my mind ? I know the fee is non refundable so im not worried about that. would i be legally or morally bound to go for GWU since i have accepted my place with them? ( like in early decision scenarios with undergrads)

From a 'legal' perspective you most certainly can pay the nonrefundable fee and then go to another school, thereby forgoing your fee. Indeed many applicants do this every year.

thanks a lot...i know it sounded like a silly question , but international students like myself have to be a little careful with legalities of our host countries. but its cool thanks again
