Admission consultants in India for GMAT ? [#permalink]
21 Jul 2010, 05:06
Hi there, any idea which firms are the best in India, for GMAT Admission counselling. I found a few such as Jamboree and AppHelp, but not sure of there program. International programs such as Veritas and ClearAdmit are too expensive! Thanks Krishan

since the admissions process is in English i would not worry about finding somebody specifically in India. You can look abroad. I am Spanish and ended up choosing eduquates, italian experts who are actually very cheap.

I dont know about GMAT but for just Admission consulting, I wouldnt recommend Jamboree. I have taken Jamboree and it was a complete waste of time and money. They do not provide any counselling. They just give you a list of schools based on your profile (which is actually all schools in 2nd and 3rd tier if you have a very good profile) and do not even help you with ways to improve your profile/essays.
Their essay writers are all editors at various publishing houses and are all part-time. They also run their own essay writing services so, overall, they make no attempt to spend time to understand and improve your profile. I dont mean improve -- they wont even tell you some of the things on your profile are worth high-lighting. I questioned them on the same, and they told all their essay writers have MBAs. But, when I asked my essay writer, she said she has a BA.
Dont even go for jamboree. My opinion, talk to current students and alumnis on forums. They are usually very helpful.

Globally, admissions consulting works on a virtual model (relying on email and phone to get the work done). So physical proximity isn't important. But if you are looking for someone in B'lore, you could check out CrackVerbal.

i have been using the services of access education for the admission consultancy and it seems fine to me. They are covering the full lot of services from school selection to interview prep (includes LORs, Essay review etc.) Also, they are charging not that much $$ as compared to other consultancy cos. IMHO, worth a try.

Is this for GMAT or admissions consulting? For GMAT I suggest trying the huge number of free or less expensive online resources, such as Master GMAT. Good luck.

After applying and getting dinged at various schools last year I decided to go for a admission consultant and after a lot of reserach decided to go for MBADream.in and I couldn't have done any better. One of the reason I choose them was because they are experts with indian applicants. Add to it a solid track record of getting more than 99% of the applicants admitted into their preffered MBA program you have a winner in my eyes.
Getting 7 interview invites from TOP 20 schools already combined with ISB speaks volume about the quality of work done by MBADream. I also got admitted into Vanderbilt Owen with more than 75% scholarship. I am thoroughly convinced that MBADream increased my chances many times over than if I had done it on my own considering I would fall under the most competitive applicant pools ever. My consultant’s guidance and ability to see the best in me helped me realize my life long dreams. I would highly recommend MBAdream, especially to anyone that wants to differentiate themselves and compete for the most coveted business school acceptance letters

Hi, I am also looking for admission consultants (with proven record) in India for LBS & INSEAD. Most of the consultants are US focused. Can anyone suggest good admission consultants in Delhi (NCR)?
