I believe you will get 12 or 13 weeks off over the summer and most internships are 10-12 weeks. Most start mid june and run until the end of august...there is plenty of volunteer opportunities during the school year though if you really want to do something. Thanks River. Was hoping to get in some volunteer work at a social enterprise company that I wanted to intern with but couldn't afford to pay stipend. Will have to see if I can work anything else out with them then.

Count me in for ski trip! Also from student affairs, I have confirmed that CIM Ball will be on 9/25 this year.

Also, has anyone actually purchased and received the KLP laptop yet? I am thinking about ordering it, but any early feedback on the custom x201 would be greatly appreciated.

This post received KUDOS
The school may give you a stipend if you want to do a non-profit internship...if you are seriously into that I would definitely talk with the CMC about it.

I just looked into that and saw on the site that they will provide on a matching basis and not if it is unpaid position.

last year if you got 1k the school would give you 7k (for the whole summer)....if you think about a 10 week internship with 40hrs a week that works out to a company having to pay you $2.50 an hour.

Whoops, I just noticed on the KLP ordering page that the machine would not be shipped until mid-June. I am leaning toward ordering it, but not totally set.

Thanks for the info boogs! I was under the impression that people who get in at McManus definitely move in. I have to email Debbie to find out what my WL postion is. How's ur app hunt going on? I'm set on K-Laptop. Since I don't have an adress in U.S, I'll order in July and pick it up during tech check. If you receive yours by then, you can probably give us a first-hand info about the laptop

Thanks river. I'll look into this further then. It would be a great opportunity and is a company I would love to do work with if I could make it work financially. I'm waitlisted at McManus. Looks like it's apartment hunting and roommate finding for me!

hey guys, just discovered this sector of the forum~~ hello future classmates! I also didn't get McManus, just put in an application for 1500 Chicago yesterday. I am also from out of town, will be out of the country in two weeks~ so trying to figure everything out before I leave... the whole McManus waitlist thing is just too slow, can't wait for that... I am sending information to a few international folks I know who also didn't get McManus since I did quite some research in the past days. Let me know if anyone on the board need any help.

I felt that Kellogg supports Mac very well! and Windows in VM should do all the trick for the excel heavy class!

I am leaning toward x201 because I would like something smaller than 13 or 15". I may have some spare MBP AC adapters if I end up returning this laptop when I leave work.

Hi river and other current students, quik question for you.. What's your opinion on 1200 Simpson? There are some great apartments there for affordable rents, but I don't see many current students living there. What's the verdict on these? Thanks wg Posted from my mobile device

I don't know anyone living there, so I can't comment on the building itself, but in general Kellogg students choose to live closer to downtown Evanston rather than that far north. The Reserve (Ridge & Emerson) is the only place in that area that I know of multiple Kellogg students living, and even that is a pretty small group.

Has anyone gotten information regarding application verification? I looked through the admitted students website, and it says: Quote: Students admitted during Round 1 should submit the Authorization Release Form beginning June 1, 2010 and no later than June 7, 2010
Students admitted during Round 2 should submit the Authorization Release Form beginning June 8, 2010 and no later than June 14, 2010 However, I never received an email with the release form, and there is no link to the form on the website. Have R1 admits already received the form?

Even I saw that application verification stuff yesterday but I haven't received any email yet( I'm R2)
One more thing, the links in that page are not properly working. So, I believe, they are still working on it

Hi Guys,
I received an e-mail back in April outlining my financial aid offer. In this e-mail it stated that they would send a follow-up starting in mid-May with materials for me to accept/decline the aid. I haven't received the follow up yet and e-mailed Kellogg yesterday.
Has anyone else received the follow up financial aid e-mail yet?

Has anyone else received the follow up financial aid e-mail yet? Yes, I received official financial aid. You can check in CAESAR to accept/decline. It looks like we should get our KWEST matches soon. Some admits reported that they were offered a trip to the US Virgin Islands after failing to match any choices, so that must mean they are pretty far along in assignments. The KWEST FAQ says we should hear in the 2nd week of June (next week?)
