Admitted to Kellogg Class of 2012 Thread

Hi All

Congrats on getting the admission to Kellogg Class of 2012. Starting this thread to continue the collaboration and help each other out. Please indicate if you will be attending DAK.

Hey wiseguyMBA! congrats to you too.
Though I am 99% sure I'll be matriculating at Kellogg I won't be able to attend DAK. I am currently in India and it will be too much of a hassle to visit for just the two days.

Thanks for starting the thread though. I hope you get to post here what happened at DAK for us.

I agree, the admitted to XYZ's should be made sticky for a while on the main forum.

Unfortunately, can't make it to DAK

. I would have loved to come.

Congrats guys on getting admitted to Kellogg. I'll throw in my shameless plug here for DAK. If it's possible for you to come to Evanston that weekend, it's definitely worth the trip. DAK was a great experience for me last year, and I think this year's will be even better.

Does anyone know when the background check process starts? Is it done by Kroll?

I'm leaving the country in the first week of April to return to Asia till the start of school, so I wanted to make sure I get this off my plate before I leave.

Well it not gonna start before you pay up the deposit and submit your transcripts..
If you have any issues I suggest you do that asap and inform the school about your plan in this context...I think there is a seperate application verification authorisation form that needs to be filled.

it happens after deposit? I always thought that we do the verification first and then deposit. have you deposited and now see the verification authorization form?

Well I will not be attending DAK and and have already decided on joining Kellogg, so I already paid the deposit. The Verification Authorization Form is not released yet. I think the link will be posted on this page at the admitted students site whenever it's ready.

I think the verification starts after you pay the deposit because how else will the school know if you will be coming to Kellog or not. I don't think they will get it done for all admitted students...those will be almost twice as many. Most schools outsource it to an agency like Kroll, though I don't think it matters who does it. If at all you are expecting some genuine discrepancy to come up, it's best to let the school know beforehand. I think they don't mind minor deviations though.
Your K-Bud will be able to help you out if you need more detailes sort of info.

Last year Kellogg didn't do background checks, but maybe it has changed this year. Kinda looks like it with that application verification form.

Verification is new this year, adcom decided to do it since it was so common among Kellogg's peer schools. Only admitted students who pay the enrollment deposit will go through the process.

Has anyone seen the information for Kellogg's laptop program. There was a lot of discussion on last years thread, but I'm not sure where to look for this year's computer's specs.

That information won't be out for a while - probably not until the late spring. Not that long ago KIS asked us for feedback on the current KLP laptops and what features we'd want in a laptop. So my guess is they still haven't decided on a laptop for next year yet.
