Admitted to Michigan (Ross) Class of 2011 Thread!

Went to the Ross reception in LA last night. All in all, it was a great event. Ross definitely knows how to wine and dine. There was a surprisingly large turnout. I'd say there were about 25-30 admitted students and 10-12 alumni. There were a lot of recent grads (05-07), a handful from the '90s, and even a sprinkling of folks from the late '70's/early '80s. I also met armycamel, who is a pretty cool guy.

Couple of things I noticed. There were a lot of admits who were on the fence. I ran into a girl that was also deciding between Cornell and Ross. Also ran into some folks that were considering Duke, Tuck, and Kellogg. There was a plethora of people deciding between Anderson and Ross. Interestingly, all of those folks who I spoke with seemed to indicate that they were strongly leaning towards Ross despite wanting to come back to the LA/SoCal area.

I also spoke with the head hauncho from career services. He said that internship rates are at about 58% this year (down from about 72% at this point last year), primarily because of IB. What's interesting though, is that he said that domestic internship rates are up compared to last year, while int'ls are having a VERY tough time (because of visa/sponsorship issues---e.g., TARP firms).
