This is C.

B: have had little or no chance "to recognize and treat their symptoms"
- Doesn't make sense. were they strapped up or something? it changes the meaning from someone else recognizing and treating it.

It seems that C also talks about treating symptoms. C is correct, not B because we don't usually treat ourselves. We get treated by doctors...

A- could make no sence
B- D and wrong becasue of meaning
E - their is more appropriate than his or her
C- seems the right answer

Although B is gramatically correct it changes the meaning .I will go with C.

after eliminating I narrowed down to B or C.
Now B sounds grammatically correct but it says that the survivors will treat themselves, which is wrong because someone else (a doctor) will treat the survivors.
So option C, mentioning 'getting treated', should be right.

Can anyone give the OA?
