Advertisement: Of the many over-the-counter medications marketed for the relief of sinus headache. SineEase costs the least per dose. And SineEase is as effective per dose as the most effective of those other medications. So for relief from sinus headaches, SineEase is the best buy.
Which of the following, if true, most seriously weakens the argument above?
(A) Most of the over-the-counter medications marketed for the relief of sinus headache are equally effective per dose in providing such relief.
(B) Many of the over-the-counter medications marketed for the relief of sinus headache contain the same active ingredient as SineEase.
(C) People who suffer from frequent sinus headaches are strongly advised to consult a doctor before taking any over-the-counter medication.
(D) An over-the-counter medication that is marketed for the relief of symptoms of head cold is identical in composition to SineEase but costs less per dose.
(E) The per dose price for any given over-the-counter medication marketed for the relief of sinus headache is higher for smaller packages than it is for larger packages.

I chose A. The reason i did not choose D was because i thought that the term "head cold" was different from "sinus headache" although they are the same i suppose.

It should be D. although it is for head cold, but it has the same composition as sinusEase but it is cheaper.
A is not the answer because it simply supports the premise.

My answer is D.
The argument is that SineEase is the best buy because it is the cheapest per dose + is as effective as other medications.
D would weaken the argument.

The passage only states that " of the many....."/ not "of all", SineEase coest the least per dose -----> There's probably a cheaper one and if there is such one, the argument may be weakened ----> D shows that there is a cheaper one medication with the same composition to SineEase's ----> SineEase is not the best---> the argument is weakened.

Also vote for D. The other medication is identical in composition to SineEase but costs less per dose --> such medication has the same effect in treating the headache and cheaper than SineEase.
D weakens the arguments.

D is the best choice. If another drug has the same composition, then it would have the same effect. And if this alternative has a lower cost per does than SineEase, then the advertisement is making a false claim.

The competing product with an identical composition, thereby alleviating the same sinus/cold headache costs less, so the claim made by Sinease is false (or weakened).
D.

we need to weaken the conclusion that sinease is the best buy ie in terms of price/dose.
D does it because it shows another alterative that is cheaper...making the conclusion false.

D is the lesser evil. No doubt, that what I would pick on the test.
However D is deeply flawed. The other medication is intended for head cold , so its doses could significantly differ from those of SineEase. Hence
we cannot assume that it would be cheaper to take then SineEase. Moreover, its doses could be so smaller then those of SineEase that it would be much more expensive to use it instead of the original medication .
Nevertheless, as I already said, I would pick this one since other choices are clearly out.

Agree with Deowl. Chose D as it is the least of the evils.

(A) Doesn't address cost at all..
(B) Same as A.. doesn't address cost...
(C) Unrelated...
(D) CORRECT Answer...
(E) Package size is of no relevance...

Will go with D.
D says there are other alternatives cheaper than SineEAse hence the argument that SineEase is the best buy doesnot stand.
