Hi,
Thanks for setting up this thread. I have a quick question and was hoping you could please provide some guidance.
I am applying to a couple of top US schools to begin fall 2011. Some of the schools ask for the number of times times that I have taken the GMAT. Now my dilemma, I have taken the GMAT 6 times and my last score was a 710 (49Q 39V AWA 6.0) which is also my highest.
I am dyslexic and it is part of the reason for my numerous attempts. Should I include something in the additional information section letting the schools know of my dyslexia? Will this have a negative impact on my application?
A quick summary of my profile:
age 28/ 29 at matriculateion
2:1 degree form a mid tier UK university I believe it's equivalent to a 3.5 GPA (loads of leadership at University e.g. founded a successful student investment fund, worked as a radio DJ etc)
W/E(here in the UK) 3 yrs business development, Strategic planning, project managment at a Fortune 10 tech company (loads of professional accomplishments and good stories to tell. Worked - as a leader and team member- on some high impact projects with major blue chip clients)
Ethnicity: African (member of a prominent royal family in my home country)
EC: loads of leadership (currently Chairman of the board of a non profit here in the UK over 150 members), former soccer coach, currently mentor and support a young orphan in my home country - providing her with opportunities to pursue her dreams of one day becoming a teacher (been doing this for over 10 years), taught at a school for children and adults with profound cognitive disabilities in Africa, also collaboarted with the UK government to provide young girls with access, training and opportunities in IT etc.
I just feel that taking the test that many times may be of big concern to them but I also feel that not letting them know of my condition will be a an error on my part. I am completely lost. Please help. Thanks in advance.

I think you should answer the question truthfully and also say that dyslexia caused you to take it 6 times. Did you ask for accommodations when you took the GMAT?
Keep in a mind that an essay about how you overcame dyslexia or simply deal with dyslexia could be a great essay.
Best,
Linda
