Hi all,

Just a question for all experienced GMAT students...

I am wondering what is realistic in terms of how many points one could improve on ones GMAT score in a week?

I feel I am beginning to make progress after a few months of study (it's been a long road form as non-quant guy...), but am still really lagging on Quant. I am currently hitting around 600 on Prep tests (AWA included for time), Verbal at 75%.

I sit in 3 weeks, do you think I am being realistic in aiming to improve by 50-60 points, and get up to a 660?

Thanks. J

If you know what your weaknesses are, concentrate on those. Don't just keep frolicking through problems, but figure out your areas of concern and then apply yourself to solving them and improving your skills. Error logs are an amazing resource. Doing problems that you got wrong over again allow you to recognize those errors on future problems and whiz through problems that would have given you a lot of trouble.

I agree that if you focus on your weak areas you can absolutely gain that much ground in three weeks. If you were lagging in verbal maybe a 60 point improvement would seem aggressive, but math is so much easier because there are a very limited number of concepts tested.

Work hard and keep an optimistic attitude and you can make it happen!

I imroved 30 points just by relaxing and being well rested the second time. I did not even study, and I had taken it two months before. Went from a 660-690.

Thanks for all your replies everyone, very encouraging.

Maths is my weak point so thats the concentration - I feel like I have made lots of progress even in the last week.
