Hi! I'm looking for a profile evaluation
Age: 24
Gender: Male
BSc: Computer Science 7.5/10 (school ranked 75-100) (professors were a little beat tightfisted with our grades :p - my grade was 0,5 - 1/10 above median )
MSc: Accountancy and Auditing (estimated degree above 8.6/10 and top 5 -- currently first in class (now- 8.8/10) ) ( so called most reputable in accounting and auditing in country because it's certified by country's Institute of CPAs )
I've been offered a job as a junior CPA at the biggest domestic auditing company after an internship last summer, and planning to start working there mid sept at least for 1-2 years.
I hope i'll score above 650 GMAT and aprox. 100 TOEFL
My thoughts are also towards a Phd after an MBA.
What B Schools are best for my concetration (IT -innovation combined with accounting and auditing)? Whats my best shot?
Any advice and thoughts?
Thanks in Advance for your help and guidance!
p.s My Country is in Europe (G letter of "PIGS" :p)
While Greece tends to be under-represented in the top MBA programs, I do believe you should aim for higher than a 650 on the GMAT for the top programs. A 680 might be enough, but that would be with exceptional experience. Accountants tend to have difficulty gaining acceptance to the top programs since they tend to lack the risk-taking and leadership that these programs are seeking. In addition, I'm not seeing the need for the MBA in your path forward to the PhD since you already have the MSc.
However, if you are certain of your path, there are a few top Accounting MBA programs with strong IT/MIS/Technology concentrations. Among these are LBS, York (Schulich), Texas (McCombs), Rochester (Simon), Boston College (Carroll), Washington (Foster), Vanderbilt, Babson (Olin), and Arizona State (Carey).
