Hi,
I have 10 years work ex in Retail as a Manager ( branch banking) and am 34 years now still single. Did my MSc in Earth Sciences from Bombay univ. Since i did not have financial background, studied and passed various certification exams in finance and banking, even passed CAMS exam recently. Overall in all exams my avg score is betwn 80 to 85%. Targetting GMAT score of 670 to 700. Currently avg sal earned by me in the middle east is USD 65 K
Reasons to do an MBA are
1.) Need to get out of the branch banking and get a role like zonal manager, etc where several branches are supervised by me, referably climb to a VP level post
2.) Is any career change possible like within retail banking a lateral move in compliance related jobs , so that i do'nt have financial targets to acheive
3.) 10 years down the line at age of 45 or so want to take up teaching post in a management college, i really want to teach
Doubts
1.) is 35 years too old for an MBA, becoz avg age is around 28 yrs in USA, even lesser in india
2.) Any good universities in US offering one year full time mba prog. I only say this because the cost of executive mba in india from top colleges is approx USD 45 K , so keeping both options open either in india or us
Looking for feedback, Thanks
