Me, D also. Why?

+ A can't be correct because it doesn't make use of ways of sentence concatenation. The sentence is fragmented.
+ B&C sound stupid.
+E: "that featured" must accompany "festivals".

I'd pick D.

A- they is the wrong pronoun here, should be these festivals.
B- were held in Aho, implies that Aho is a place instead of a person.
C- I quess festivals that are more proper than festivals featuring
We've left with D and E and E says held festivals in her home sounds more complicated than D. I prefer D.

D

featured the preparation of great quantities of ceremonial food ... should be used to modify festivals, not her home.
