IMO (E) is best.
"Aho" cannot be the name of home, hence (D) is out.
In (E) "that" correctly refers to "festival".

I think it's D.

In her home, Aho, a Kiowa matriarch, held festivals that featured the preparation of great quantities of ceremonial food, the wearing of many layers of colorful clothing adorned with silver, and the recounting of traditional tribal jokes and stories.

'that' modifies festivals - correct placement
'in her home' - I don't know what this clause is called, but I think it's one of those that can be located either at the beginning or the end of the sentence without changing the meaning.

:stupid If Aho is a name then yes, D would be best according to SmashingGrace's explanation.

OA is D
I found D awkward but other choices are clearly wrong. E is dicey and looks more clear but I think what makes it incorrect is that " that" incorrectly refers to home. Right?

D is correct.
see the explanation in the sentence (ceremonial food,colorful,jokes...) refers to the festivities, which needs to be related with the festival.
