Can someone carefully show me how to isolate for a. I am having some trouble given the roots.

a*sqrt(c/d)=c

a*sqrt(c/d)=c

Square it: a*a*c/d=c
Taking C to the other side: a*a*c/d - c = 0
Taking C common outside: c((a*a -d)/d) = 0

So either c=0 or a = +-sqrt(d)

I think you should square on both sides

a*sqrt(c/d)=c

Square it: a*a*c/d=c*c
Taking C to the other side: a*a*c/d - c*c = 0
Taking C common outside: c((a*a - cd)/d) = 0

So either c=0 or a = +-sqrt(c*d)

since there is no inequality involved, I think you can simply cross multiply without being worried about the signs of the variables

=> a = root of c*d

root c when sent to the RHS will go into c root c times and root d from the denominator will move up to RHS

So that should give a = root c*d
