I'm probably going to write it on the 15th of this month.
Here's something that really surprised me: on MGMAT 1 I made 7 or 8 mistakes on V and 8 or 10 (can't remember) on Q.
Now, I know that no. of wrong answers doesn't determine the score, blah blah blah, but does it sound at all reasonable that I got a... 770?!?!?!?
I got a 780 on MGMAT with almost same no. of mistakes. While it is deemed as one of the most accurate indicators around, I myself consider it quite misleading in this regard. You can always hit 40+ in Verbal even after committing 10-12 mistakes. That will never happen on the real GMAT.

I had similar observations. While MGMAT may offer the best barometer to predict how one scores on the real GMAT, the algorithms for scoring seem to differ in many respects. I imagine the the scores are best indicators of actual results within the scoring range between 620-720. As one passes the 720 threshold, the scoring on MGMAT becomes significantly more lenient compared to the actual. It also appears that MGMAT verbal, unlike the GMAT Prep verbal, has a rather predictable pattern that, once spotted, will no longer be much of a challenge.

Hi all, I'm new around here, but already appreciate the value of this forum
Test Date: 6th of February , 2012 Target Score: 730+ Practice Test Scores and Materials: Learned with MasterGMAT (will post my whole review about it after the test). I've practiced with MasterGMAT tests (700,710,730), CATPrep tests (620 - Q51,V24; 680-Q50,V33. Their verbal was extremely difficult for me, their quant' was a walk in the park most of the times). Last night did MGMAT (720, Q47, V41). Aiming at doing at least 1 more MGMAT and 2 GMAT Prep on the next 3 days.
Good luck to us all!

Took gmatprep -1 for the first time since october. Nothing I recognized as a repeat... either way, got a 720 q49 v40. I'm even happier about this score because, on the q I got 11 wrong, and only 3 of them were due to actual holes in knowledge/technique. The other... 8, were all just not reading questions carefully enough... Embarrassing, but hopefully an easy fix.
The verbal, I got 9 wrong. Got every RC correct, and only missed 1 CR... the other 8 were all SC...
So, my focus in the next 2 weeks (test on the 18th) is SC. Its nice to have only one thing that needs improving. I'm changing my goal from 50q 40v to 50q 42v!

Hi all, 5 days of February have passed. Recent February Test takers can post their test day experiences and scores here or the links to their debriefs as they are done with the test. It will be of great help to those who are just behind you in the queue, and we will see how goes February for the GmatClubbers. \m/

Took the GMAT yesterday, as detailed in previous post: 720, 49Q and 39V. Felt like I underperformed the quant section, guessing at least 4-5 questions, and finishing right on time.

Had my GMAT about a week ago (full debrief here) , and got very disappointed, I scored 660 (Q47, V34, AWA6.0) and felt that the verbal part went really below my expectations. Furthermore, I finished it on time, which was a surprise to me as I usually have 5-10 minutes to spare in the end. The quant was OK, but I could have done better and expected to score 49-50.
Will have to take it again, as I'm aiming to the 720-740 zone and can definitely make it.

Took it on the 11th. I had about two weeks to prepare for this test.
It was definitely a different sort of test prep than I was used to studying for the SAT or exams in school. Working 60 hour, 6 day work-weeks really crimped my ability to devote the resources I would have liked to study.
I was hoping to score around a 670, but alas fell short. I think the preponderance of geometry questions on the Quantitative Section really hurt me, and overall fatigue might have led my Verbal score to be lower than I had anticipated.

Well, I ended up hitting my verbal goal, but quant didnt move. All in all, I got a 710 and am done.
Date: February 18 Target: (51q; 46v) Practice materials: MGMAT + OG + Kaplan 800 Practice scores:
GMATprep: test 1 690 (49q; 36v); test 2 710 (48q; 40v) MGMAT: test 1 740 (47q;46v) - freaked out during quant and kept checking timetable; used timetable for verbal, much better time management on verbal. MGMAT: test 2 710 (46q;41v) - gave up half way through quant and didn't write down a thing for verbal: finished with 36 minutes left. no timing table.
Took my GMAT February 18. Updating today because I got my AWA and official scores.
Q: 49 V: 41 OVERALL: 730 (96pctl) AWA: 6.0
I will not retake the exam.
I burned out Tuesday prior, took Wednesday and Thursday off. Did a quant section on Friday night and went to bed.
I didn't even look at the essay writing until Feb 16. I studied this post to get a feeling of how a 6.0 essay should read: how-to-get-6-0-awa-my-guide-64327.html
I don't know what happened with verbal other than that I never practiced with the two essays so I was a little tired for that final 75 minutes. If I were to do it again, I would have spent more time practicing the exams WITH the essays.
