This is my first blog post in this forum, although I have been using GMATClub for quite a long time. Firstly, I would like to wish all the test takers who will be taking their GMAT in February.
I am planning to take the GMAT by end of Feb(most likely). I have not booked the test date yet. My target score is 740.
My most recent practice GMAT score using MGMAT CAT, last week, was 650(Q43 V35). I was concentrating more on Verbal before this test. Expecting to hit at least a 47 in Quant in the next test, planned on 21st Jan, and get a verbal score closer to 40s.
My main problem areas have been DS, CR and RC. Have been trying to address the gaps in various topics.
The materials I have been using are MGMAT Guides, OG11 & 12, Nova GMAT DS, Powerscore CR and a lot of other materials.

made my 3rd (and last) appointment for 2/18 at 8AM, I've learned a lot from my last 2 tries, and I'm confident I have the ability and plan to score 48+ on Q, and bring my score into the 700s
Test Date: 24/02/12 Target Score: 750+ Practice Test Scores and Materials: OG 12, Manhattan SC, Verbal/Quant Review. Test scores can be found in the signature.
Any Last Minute Questions: 1)Any last minute 700+ question banks ? Desperately in search of them. 2) I have never gone through any lists of idioms. CAn recent test takers affirm that idioms are gone ?
Any Last Minute Advice: Plan your last 20 days today.

Damn you guys are doing real well. I've been scoring mid 500s I am doing really good on verbal but need to work on Quant. I am struggling significantly on Quant. My test date is Feb 23rd. Aiming for at least 600. If I can nail down quant then I am confident I can get above 600 because I am really good now at Verbal.
Prep: Veritas prep and also bought a kaplan book to supplement. Also been doing daily GMAT Q of the day problems from GMATClub and also doing various PS and DS questions from the forums here
Any tips you guys got to offer? seems like you guys are prepping well. I plan to practice more on quant by doing more and more problems from the various quant books I own from Veritas and will take a practice test about every 4 or 5 days to get ready for the testing exp. Its my 1st time taking the GMAT. Current senior, taking GMAT to gain acceptance to the Masters of Accounting Program at various colleges throughout the country.

I'll go for a second attempt in late Feb/early March. Scored a 650 on my first attempt on the 20th of Dec, haven't really studied any GMAT since then.
As a non-native verbal is my weakest section so this time I will focus mainly on that, have just recently started reading The Great Gatsby. Hopefully reading will help me kick up my RC score, and that is probably a good tip for anyone struggling with RC.
Does anyone have any timing tips? I usually have 3-15 minutes left on the quant section and 2-8 minutes left on the verbal section. When I took the GMAT I spent some extra time on the first 5-7 questions, which made me stress a bit too much in the middle of the test and then I ended up with time to spare. I had 6-7 minutes left on my verbal part and only scored a 34 so I could definitely use the "extra" time.

Date: February 18 Target: (51q; 46v) Practice materials: MGMAT + OG + Kaplan 800 Practice scores:
GMATprep: test 1 690 (49q; 36v); test 2 710 (48q; 40v) MGMAT: test 1 740 (47q;46v) - freaked out during quant and kept checking timetable; used timetable for verbal, much better time management on verbal. MGMAT: test 2 710 (46q;41v) - gave up half way through quant and didn't write down a thing for verbal: finished with 36 minutes left. no timing table.

Test Date: Feb 25 @ 10 a.m. Target Score: 750 (why not?) Practice Test Scores: -GMAT Prep 1 620 (Q35) (V40) -MGMAT Test 1 580 (really?) Materials: -OG 12th -OG Quant 2nd -MGMAT OG Companion (not sure this is really helpful, but it got me the access to the tests) -MGMAT Adv. GMAT Quant
I realize my Quant is quite low, but this is with zero studying and I feel like Quant is easier to make up than Verbal. I think I can still improve my Verbal with a little practice, in fact, I already feel stronger there. I'm focusing my study efforts on Quant, although I can't help sneaking a few Verbal Q's in every now and again just so I can feel better about myself.

Exam Date: Feb 4th (Currently I am bundle of nervousness and excitement)
Previous Exam Scores: I took 3 tests this past weekend to figure out my finals preparation GMAT prep 1: 660 (45Q/35V) Manhattan GMAT CAT 6 : 660 (44Q/36V) GMAT prep 2: 700 (48Q/37V)
Preparation: Manhattan GMAT Prep 9 week course CR Bible (Only read the first 2 chapters) Manhattan GMAT Advanced Quant (Going through it now)
Target: 700... anything above is gravy. (I am being real about this though. The fact that I have scored a 700 during only 1 of my practice exams shows that I am not at that level yet. There are too many variables that can go wrong and therefore I am going with the attitude that I will take it again. I already have a gameplan for the retake in the sense of going through the Advanced quant many times and SC going through the SC grails which I did not do the first time because I was focused on the Manhattan GMAT learning experience)
Problems : Advanced Quant, Sentence Correct, and Timing.
How to attack problems: Advanced Q: Bought the kindle edition of the Advanced book of Manhattan. Shooting for getting through about 80% by Thursday and locking it in. SC: Approach is attacking them as quant and so if I know the rule, I can solve it. Timing: Saving time at the end. I noticed that towards the end I was getting a whole bunch of questions wrong because of fatigue, time, and difficultly specially in Q. Therefore I plan to start fast in Q, and save some time for the last 8 so it would end up being I would have 18 minutes for the last 8 instead of only 16.
