Thanks for the fast response! I knew the level of difficulty played a major role, but I guess I was shocked at scoring so high (by my standards) without really getting questions that I considered to be 700 level, and ending up with questions that seemed more like 550-600 level questions. I'm pretty pumped now knowing 700 is completely with reach. Thanks again!

is there a difference between online kaplan cats and the ones that are on the cd that comes with gmat premier book 2010-2011 edition.

I took the online cat and got 690. Quant was really easy. Got only 1 wrong.

This morning I started doing cat 1 from cd and found quant difficult. Finished quant, went to take a shower and came back to finish verbal but saw 55 mins left. the clock didnt sop. So I skiped the verbal. I got 50Q(6 wrong). I want to go back home tonight and do a test again.

Which one should I do? The online one or one from cd.

i also just took the kaplan online test.
scored 670. quant part was a joke. got only 3 wrong. verbal wasnt very hard either.
according to the estimator i will get 740 in the real one, which i think is VERY unrealistic for me.
i usually score 640-650 on prep tests...

Dear all,
I tried to do the Kaplan CD CAT tests, but do not think I can stop the clock form running in between sections. Is this a feature, or is there a way to stop the clock between sections on the CAT CD? The Kaplan online CAT tests let me stop the clock in between sections.

Thanks!

Good day Folks,

I have been a member of GC for a while now but I cannot visit GC and spend much time due to my work. However, 'am overwhelmingly thankful to the moderator for the helpful emails I receive from GC.

I have my GMAT in 80+ days on 7 Feb 2011 n have just begun my prep this tuesday, able to spend abt 3 Hrs a day. Looking forward for the grueling weekends ahead n even nights . I see there are quite a few free practice tests on this thread those can be downloaded. My is, after we take a test (any test), can we review our test so that it helps us to find our mistakes 'n if yes, then how??. Request you folks to shower light so that I gear up my prep. Also, suggest/share anything you feel will help me in my prep.

Regards,
Farooq.

Hey all,

I started the preparation with the GMAT Prep tests - 700 on my first try, 720 on second, 730 third (minor overlap).

Since then I spent more than two months studying hard, taking 5 MGMAT tests along the way with scores of 700, 650 - (really bad day but took the test anyways), 720, 710, 700, 700. I actually started writing the AWA essays in the last two prep tests to simulate the real GMAT stamina requirements... My real test is on the 3rd of December and I am starting to feel really nervous. I am aiming for anything 700+. When I reviewed one of my GMAT Prep tests today I noticed the quant questions to be much simpler than the MGMAT ones - or at least less wordy. Am planning to re-take the GMAT Prep in the coming week and the last MGMAT as well (provided I have the time).

Is it still true that the MGMAT tests seem harder but also overstate the score?

I'd appreciate anyone sharing his/her thoughts about the current real GMAT score predicting ability of GMAT Prep vs MGMAT.

Thanks!

Thanks BB,

ever thought about improving the calculator? Maybe allow people to upload more test scores from each company, not just an average from all their tries. Also maybe refine it by splitting the verbal/quant parts? Also the "performance under stress" slider seems to just multiply the input by a certain coefficient - I find it strange that when I select "great" I get my estimated result at 740 (higher than any of my practice tries) - is that so?

Are the GMATclub tests computer adaptive or is there just a fixed rotation?

Great resource. You could change the free tests from time to time so to reward people that follow the forum but haven't yet reached 200 posts.

Thanks a lot and keep up the good work
