Hmmmm.......shud be between C & D.......although Alongside would have been the best if it were a choice..........I kinda like "C"........I think D would be better if it were "Besides"............I may be wrong though :?

Along with being the chief legal adviser to the president, the attorney general administers a department of nearly 50,000 employees.

A)........ Along with - does not sound to go well, I do not know the grammer behind it.. I go with my ear in this. Perhaps, someone else can explain why the first one is wrong.

B) At the same time as - Meaning stays, but the sentence is wordy, C is better put and concise. And At the same time as being ...is not correct. Hence B is wrong.

C) In addition to - Correct usage an meaning is retained. Correct answer.

D) Beside- Wrong one. 'This says Next to being...' Meaning changed. Example.. He sat BESIDE me.

E) Also -Had it been Apart from, this would have been correct. Nevertheless, this choice is absent. Also being is not correct usage. Note, sentences that start with Also being, generally and always are wrong.

Regards

" IN ADDITION TO" is a correct answer.

" In addition to + (doing) + something " is a correct usage. We can omit (doing).

" Along with/Together with/As well as + something "

Is it right?
