Alternate Transcript - Course Choice [#permalink]
15 Apr 2013, 14:29
Hi all. I'm in the process of registering for classes for an alternate transcript, and I was just looking for some feedback about my choices.
Calculus for Science and Engineering - UCSD (traditional class)
Financial Accounting - UCSD (traditional class)
Business Statistics - UCLA Extension (online)
Mathematics for Management - UCLA Extension (online)
Class options I'm foregoing:
Financial Markets - UCSD
Monetary Economics - UCSD
*Both of the above are upper tier classes, and I'm just not sure I am prepared to buy into that workload given I'm working full time. I feel like I'm already going to be on the edge of too busy getting A's in what I've mentioned
Calculus I - I already have calculus credits on my transcript, but the grades are low (C's). Should I retake? I think Calculus for Science and Engineering might be a little harder than intro calc (?)
Intermediate Microeconomics - the intermediate micro on my transcript is advanced standing from the college i originally attended, and I think at that time I received a D in that course. I've heard that some schools make you report your Micro grade... should I retake?
My stats: GPA 3.4 from a state school, Economics major (3.6 major GPA)
Embarrassing side note: About 25% of my credits on my state school transcript are advanced standing from a "near-Ivy" that I attended on and off for 2.5 years after high school, to disastrous results. It's not really a complicated story, I just didn't care about school at the time, at all. Anyway, the depths of that transcript really can't be overstated (sadly), thus the alternate transcript...
Any thoughts are much appreciated. Thanks!
