Thank you for taking the time to read. I have a question regarding Alternative Transcripts. I have an UGPA of 2.5 and want to take some classes at UCLA Extension. However, I would like to know how schools like INSEAD, HEC Paris, and other international schools view alternative transcripts? I ask this because reading about alternative transcripts on GMAT Club has only yield information about U.S. schools and not much about International.
Currently I am planning on applying to B-school for 2014. My choices are INSEAD, Ross, Anderson, Said, and HEC Paris. My goal is to move from IT into the finance field. Therefore, I want to take some online quant classes since I live overseas.
Stats UGPA: 2.5 Major: Political Science Minor: Japanese and Computer Science GMAT: Not taken yet Work Experience: 3 years of IT consulting in College 2 years of English Teaching in Japan 1 year as a Programmer in Japanese Company

Well creating an alternative transcript can't hurt. However I am not sure whether a stellar alternative transcript is enough to overcome a 2.5 GPA to be competitive at those schools. A phenomenal GMAT would help offset your GPA to an extent but you have yet to take it. Finally IT to finance is a pretty common switch so might be a tough sell.
