"C" for me.
It is the correct modifier for "these gregarious creatures"
In "B" , "depicted to be" is unidiomatic.

I say it has to be C.
Gregarious creatures refer to coyotes, not to the film.

C for me!
although ( what do you call it, adjective?) should be followed by the subject(s) it refers to, which in this case, are the coyotes.
Can some one explain why it is not B?
"In films" seems to jive with "in reality".

I pick C.
Looks like the two day policy is not being observed here:)

A for me
for C
"in films about the American West" is modifying "coyotes are depicted",
seems to be too far away from each other.

C is fine. We need to compare similar things. A doesn't compare similar things.
OA please...

A sounds fine coz it has appropriate modifier for solitary animals.
In C,it is not neccessary to change the active into the passive voice.

The only choices that have correct idiom Depict AS and no if are A and C
C is wrong. Here is why.
The prepositional phrase "in films about the American West" is throwing the sentence off.
The sentence seem to indicate that the animal howls only in films about the american west.
A clears it all. And moreover A maintains parallelism by starting 2 clause with - in filem and in reality...
A is my choice.

C.
To me: A
coyotes as solitary animals
seems wrong. as it is comparing noun, it should be LIKE (in GMATland).
anyone got more sensible idea?

I chose A as well. I was tempted by C, but went against it because I didn't like the passive voice of "coyotes are depicted," and "in American films" seems to be put in an awkward place in the dependant clause. I think we avoid the reference problem in A with the statement "these gregarious creatures," which leaves no doubt that we are talking about coyotes and not films.
I wouldn't be suprised if I the OA is C though.

I went with A over C, because C uses the passive voice and seems less clear. Couldn't discern any other critical differences.

As the discussion is still on...My vote for A!
C is passive and i agree with the argument that C seems to suggest that coyotes howl onlyin american films!

Great question! My vote is A.
The idiom here is depict X as Y, which cancels out B, E, depict X to be Y isn't cool at all. As noted before C is passive as you can get, and D, as if they were solitary don't vibe with moi.
Please post OA.
