I like A as well, although acting as a global thermostat

should the A be included? typo?

definitly A....
C D E r out coz btween commas we ought 2 have a modifier...... -ing form seems best here.......
B is out due to awkward construction and many other faults......

Why are we not considering parallelism here ??

correct construction should be =>

they reflect and absorb.....act.......and thus keep earth

I will go with C
