I got A.
"efficiency in" is correct, in my opinion, and "thereby" sums the sentence up well. I don't like usage of "which".

I also choose A, but in the reasoning of Hanumayamma I see this point:

hanumayamma wrote:

I think "it" cannot refer to "wood products or harvest rates" because "wood products or harvest rates" is object of "into". Furthermore, they are "plural noun", "it" cannot refer to "them". righ?

Do not forget to correct me if there is a gap in my reasoning.

May Take: B

A. awkward - pronoun it refers to improved efficiency, and adverbial phrase thereby boosting consumption modifies verb stimulate wrongly implying that the demand stimulation due increased efficiency, instead of low prices, boost the consumption.
That is, line-of-reasoning is somewhat like this: increased efficiency > stimulate demand > boost consumption.
Correct line of reasoning is increased efficiency > increase supply > lowers prices > boost consumption > stimulate demand
C. Unidiomatic - efficiency of converting
D. passive, changes meaning
E. awkward - use of when, and missing improved efficiency - changes meaning

There is absolutely nothing wrong with option A. OA is A

Option B - Demand will be stimulated by increasing supplies and lowering prices - right .. who exactly will do this - my grandfather ?

more over, this is in passive voice and the right way of putting even this passive voice is 'demand will be stimulated by the increased supplies and the lowered prices'.

IMO B

Although improved efficiency in converting harvested trees into wood products may reduce harvest rates, it will stimulate demand by increasing supply and lowering prices, thereby boosting consumption.

A. in converting harvested trees into wood products may reduce harvest
rates, it will stimulate demand by increasing supply and lowering prices,
thereby boosting -->it here is not clearly referred to any Noun

B. In converting harvested trees into wood products may reduce harvest
rates, demand will be stimulated because of increasing supply and
lowering prices, which boost --> the best. No existence of unclearly referred pronoun

C. Of converting harvested trees into wood products may reduce harvest
rates, it will stimulate demand by increasing supply and lowering prices,
which boosts --> same error as A

D. Of harvested trees being converted into wood products may reduce
harvest rates, it will stimulate demand, because it will increase supply
and lower prices, thereby boosting -->same error as A.

E. When harvested trees are converted into wood products may reduce
harvest rates
, demand will be stimulated because of increasing supply
and lowering prices, which boost --> the bold face is ungrammatical

I got A at first, but after reviewing the OA I came to realize B is the best choice.
The reasoning is that B is less ambiguous, and therefore is the best answer.
