For me, it's a toss-up between C & D. I think C is still the better choice. So C for me.

D is wrong because "each of the three" is singular, while broadcast is plural

E is correct.

IMO E...
D has S-V agreement error "brodcast" is plural and each preceeding "three major networks" makes it singular

I would go with C. "Each" requires a singular verb....

Doubt in D & E

E seems to be the best choice. I chose C

Doubt in D & E

d is definitely out because it changes the intent of the sentence. carefully interpret the intention

This one require plural subject since broadcast is verb for plural. Thus only choices B,C,E are possible.

(B) superficial, as can sometimes occur if all of the three major networks- too wordy
(C) superficial if the three major networks all-"if" here is wrong
(E) superficial, as when the three major networks each-correct since Plural sub each+ plural verb

The OA is E

hi,

Although it claims to delve into political issues, television can be superficial if the three major networks all broadcast exactly the same statement from a political candidate.

this sentence is wrong and the reason given is 'if rule violated'.

can someone explain the IF rule...
is it because of the presence of CAN(television CAN)?
but I have seen an example in idiom list:-
inflation CAN hurt profits IF costs increase.

pls explain..

I can understand why A,C and D are wrong but I cant understand why B is wrong. I chose B. I thought E is idiomatically wrong. Can someone explain what is wrong with B?

Hi all,

Is it correct when we say:

-Each of X... WAS
-The three apples each WERE

Is this the rule we should apply?

each = singular subject; broadcast =plural verb
Hence (A) and (D) are wrong
(B) very awkward construction. Also 'if' introduces a condition which was not there in original sentence
(C) converts the original intent(example - such as ) to a condition (if)

E = correct
