I concur ; the problem with E is that the modifier "even sprinkling liberally" does not have a noun it can logically refer to.

Doesn't C sound like as if Americans are some other people from different country outside United States.. How is C correct

D is out since ‘should’ changes the meaning of the sentence. A isn’t clear on what salt its talking about so I’m going to discard this for now. B seems to be correct, so I’m going to go with it unless something better comes along. C is also correct and its less wordy that B so I’m going to make this my choice, unless E turns out to be better. E is..strange sounding, ‘that even sprinkling liberally’ doesn’t sound grammatically correct to me and since I already know C is error free and more concise I am going to answer C

The meaning is perfect and it's consice let us hang on to it

D. even Americans sprinkling liberally should derive about 77 percent of their salt
should addition is akward and distorts the meaning therefore out

it should be Americans intake and not the country itself that's taking the intake
