After the comma the sentence says, "it had provisions..." It is referring to "Napoleon's army", which is singular, so the underlined portion has to agree. The only answer choice which doesn't say "they' or "their" is E.

Army being a collective Pronoun should have a Singular pronoun.
Options A to D all hve plural pronouns.

So Answer is E.
