E is the only possibility. The rest all have an improper plural pronoun "their" or "they" to describe the army, which is an "it".

Can someone explain why C is not correct ?
I don't understand the || here.
To me, it is like:
Although Napoleon’s army entered Russia with far more supplies than (supplies) they had for any previous campaign, ...

E shud be it.
All other answers have a plural 'their' improperly referring to the singular 'Army'.
