I think the answer is E.
As far as option B goes, I think maybe the idiom is "during adolescence" or just "in adolescence"? Everything else just sounds blatantly wrong.

I understand OA is E , However adolescence and abstinence are noun and in parallel. Also being is always wrong in GMAT!!!???
