OA is B.

Reasons:
1. perfumes made with synthetic ingredients, so in the second subclause you need this relationships classic fragrances....flowers and natural essences.

2.

B) the classic fragrances used to be made only from flowers

C) the classic fragrances used to be made by them only from flowers

D) the classic fragrances used to be made from flowers only

E) only flowers used to make the classic fragrances

A is wrong because its not clear who ' they' is.
E is wrong as it sounds like flowers make the perfumes and not people.

The passive voice in B, C, D seems to be the correct way to go.
C is wrong , as the pronoun 'them' is hanging without any reference earlier and isn't really required.
Between B and D --
B) seems to say that only flowers make the main ingredient ?
D) seems to say that flowers are the only ingredients.

I am not sure if the differentiation between B and D is correct.
Anyways I will go with B as it makes sense with the phrase which follows- 'and with other natural essences '

thank you guys for the explanation. contention was between B and D; as rightly pointed out option D changes meaning and not correctly used in the given context.
