Hello guys, i would like to ask you a question. I would participate to a msc in finance in a top business school. This means i should apply for the next year September 2016. At that time i ll be 26.5 years old, do u think i ll be too old to apply? if i get in i ll finish the master at the age of 27.5, and it looks for mee too old, isn't it?
I have just started my career in accounting and finance departement in a corporation and i see two options:
1)stay on my workplace untile next year and then try the msc in finance
2) stay on my workplace for the next 3/4 years, try to get promotions or even to change the company for better positions and then at the age of 28/29 trying an MBA in a top Business school
Which one could be the best option for me?
My answer will depend on if you are talking about European or American MSF programs. In general, age isn't necessarily the issue, it is years of experience. In the US most people graduating with an MSF will come in at a junior level. If you are older and have a number of years of experience then it usually makes sense to do an MBA which is the more accepted degree for older, experienced workers. If your work experience is a little weak and the quality of the MBA program you could get into below that of the "top" programs, then it might make sense to still do an MBA. It all depends on your circumstance though.
