"C".

Using both the statements, each has equal share of profit .....so C is the ans.

Let PA, PB and PC be the profits.

PC = 1/2(PA+PB)...from 1st statement...insuff

PA = 1/2(PB+PC)....from 2nd statement...insuff

Combine

PC = PB....put this in first eq.....u get PA = PC....so all equal.

c=1/2(a+b)
a=1/2(b+c)

Add them up, you get a+c=1/2(a+c)+b
=>b=1/2(a+c)

From here you should notice the nice symetry and get the conclusion that they must be the same. However if you still want to solve it:

b=1/2(1/2b+1/2c+c)=1/4b+3/4c
=>3/4b=3/4c
=>b=c

You can get a=b similarly.

My answer is C.
From both together you get A=B=C. So they all got the same amount of shares.

I wonder if the correct answer must be (E)?? Even though OA is (C)

However, the question asked who got the highest. The answer is Akova, Binova and Celeste (since all equal). There are 3 answers. Just as we say (E) if x = 5 or x = 3

Please give me your oppinion.

If the answer is all the three, then I think E will be right as we can't give a single answer.
Good one to remember!

E means I plus II don't give sufficient information about who has the highest profit. However I and II together IS sufficient (as no other information will be needed to get to the answer), even if the answer is nobody has a higher profit than others.

In other words, correct answer for this question is still (C).

In DS problem, if we combine (1) and (2) and sure we cannot find x, can we say it is (C), since x cannot be found, and that is the answer???

Same as this one??
