(1) The first 2 airplanes cost 50% of the total price.

(2) The last airplane costs half as much as the first.

B) Statement (2) BY ITSELF is sufficient to answer the question, but statement (1) by itself is not.

Statement: what is 5P-40,000=? or what is P(regular price of the airplane)

1. 2p-10,000 = (5p-40,000)/2

2. P-10,000 = 1/2 P

either one you can find P.
