It should be 4.

Since, 12 - 11 = 1
To find out the number, multiply 12 by (7/1) = 84 {
11 * 7 =77 }
{ check out with examples.. }
so, remainder when divided by 8 = 4
Ans. 4

Another approach 11x + 7 = 12x
X = 7 => the integer is 84
Divided by 8 gives 4 as remainder

Do i think you are who i think you are :)

I disagree with your second approach..

the x's are not same.

x = 11 A + 7
x = 12 B

A not equal to B.

I got remainder 0.

thanks

got 84 by simple guessing
R=4

stolyar

could you explain please

This is how i did it

x = 12m
x = 11n + 7

12m = 11n + 7
m = (11n+ 7)/12

We know m is an integer ...so 11n+7 is a multiple of 12..
n = 7 , m = 84

so .. x = 12 * 84

x divided by 8 will have remainder 0.

84=11*7+7
84=12*7

the last digit (4) should be the same

84=8*10+4

R=4
