OA is D group is singular - hence projects please don't use OA instead use IMO for your choice. probably you already know that OA = Official Answer and IMO = In My Opinion

IMO: D reason: group of scientists is a collective noun, hence singular verb 'projects' is right. group of scientists projects global warming average not an average global warming kudos if i m right

Agree with the reasoning for the requirement of the singular verb.
Now, the problem with E is we are talking of a range, so it has to be From X to Y. 'Between X & Y' is awkward because we are not choosing between two values.

It's not (D), but rather (E). You'll find a very good explanation from this link. http://www.manhattangmat.com/forums/an- ... t2322.htmlThank MGMAT for this.

E is correct. average global warming ---> Average lies between two points in space. Which is logical.

I think it should be E. ' An international group' is singular and hence projects should follow.

Subject verb agreement rules out A,B,C. Between D and E, E is better because D says an average from X to Y and that definitely doesn't make sense. An Average is never from X to Y.

I picked E. Eliminate A, B and C as group is singular hence it should be "projects" not "project". The scientists don't know the exactly how much the global warming would be. Hence it's "between" 1.8 and 6.3. Hence go for E.

please explain .. Group is collective noun so projects... between d and E i will go with E though "of" is awkward because in D pronoun "from" is wrong....it should be between...
