Ann -- $450,000
Bob -- $360,000
Cal -- $190,000
Dot -- $210,000
Ed -- $680,000
The table above shows the total sales recorded in July for the 5 salespeople at acme truck sales. It was discovered that one of Cal's sales was incorrectly recorded as one of Ann's sales. A) $30,000
B) $48,000
C) $90,000
D) $120,000
E) $140,000
I don't know where to begin with this one...

At present:
190K 210K 360K 450K 680K
Hence median is 360K.
The new median is 330.Hence one of 450K(Ann) and 190K(Cal) has to be 330.But if 190K is 330 then median will be 360.Hence 450K has to be 330K only then median will be 330K. Hence 450K-330K=120K -Verifying that "Ann's total sales were still higher than Cal's total sales" - Option (D) is the answer.

Ed -- $680,000

Bob -- $360,000

as long as they are five values then mdian must be present as a value
abd since anne and cals are the only changeable values one of them will be the median
ann>cal's
ann sales has to be decreased and it will decrease by 450 - 330 = 120
adding 120 to cals whoes sales becomes = 120+190 = 310
and the sales would be (680,360,330,310,210)
my answer is D

Yes it has to be 450-330 = 120
So D.
Earlier i took it as B-330 and got it has 30.
I think i should read the question carefully first ...............

190 210 360 450 680 Median right now is 360
After the change Ann's is still greater than Cal's. New median is 330 which is above Dot's.
So, 330K is new Ann's sales figures
450k - 330K = 120K
D.
